London, Hackney, UK. Hackney One Carnival was called off moments before the parade was due to start. The dancers and participants were already in full costume anticipating the parade to start but instead it was cancelled because of anticipated violence along the route in relation to the Tottenham riots which happened the night before. Police had intelligence that the carnival event was targeted for violence. The participants took the cancellation calmly.
